Electrical engineering is a very specialized field in terms of its application, utilities and products which are produced from it. It is unique from other engineering disciplines in term of its principles, laws, fields and technical aspects. Without electrical sources, the present world cannot survive. Electrical devices are widely used both in domestic applications and industrial applications. They are portable, user friendly and safe. They are efficient and timesaving. Electrical power is very important for both domestic utilities and industrial utilities.
Different types of sources are used for generating power nowadays. Electrical engineering is further divided into three branches. These branches are Power, Electronics and Telecommunication. Each branch opens a new area of science and technology. Each branch has specific application areas. Without electrical engineering, the world cannot developed so rapidly. Many people have an ambition that they can become electrical engineer. There are some reasons due to which a person aims to become an electrical engineer.

1.  To become a Power Engineer
Power is an important and vital commodity in present world. Without power, our industries cannot run. Different types of sources are now utilized for generation of power. Power engineering is a branch of electrical engineering. Power engineers design appliances which generate power. Power engineering is a very interesting field. Transmission engineer keeps all aspect in mind and after analyzing all parameters, then he transmit power from power house to other places. While transmitting power, many things are necessary to keep in mind. Transmission engineer works in high voltage engineering applications. Electrical drives are widely used in industries. Transmission engineer also operates electrical drives. To become a transmission engineer is a matter of honor for a human being.

Electronic engineering is a technical branch of electrical engineering. Electronic engineering includes electronic devices, electronic systems, instrumentation, power electronics and industrial electronics. Diodes and transistor are the key elements of electronics. Simulation gives the result of your design. It enables us to make a powerful judgment about our design. Different softwares are used on which simulation is being executed. Simulation keeps a significant importance in electrical design. Electrical engineers do simulation of different electrical systems. Electrical simulation gives you satisfaction about your design.

Telecommunication is a different field. It introduces new technologies. It brings new customs, traditions and new styles. Telecommunication made this world so faster. With mobiles, telephones, internet and other communication devices, now communication is so easy. More developments are being made in this field. Telecom sector is a very broad market for electrical engineers. They are working as telecommunication engineers in telecommunication companies.
